The Archetypes

Archetypes represent common movement patterns and specializations. Just like classes in RPGs, our archetypes allow you to choose what movements you want to specialize in! Some may want to be able to portcullis (portculli?) with their brute strength, while others may opt to slip quietly under the trip wire set at the doorway. While some people may have an easier time becoming one archetype or another, ultimately the choice is up to you.

Barbarian

Barbarian

Barbarians focus on the strength to push their bodies to the limit when it is necessary, and the strength of mind to maintain discipline when braving the harsh elements. They understand, however, that strength without mobility is useless, and improper nutrition and sleep habits can work against a barbarian in their quest for physical domination.Strength also manifest in power, which is tied with speed, and endurance, which allows the barbarian to push themselves to god-like feats of fortitude in the face of insurmountable odds.

Druid

Druid

Druids seek stillness and presence of mind, which serves them well as protectors of the eldritch secrets of the forest. Not only do druid rituals and spells require complex full body somatic components, they also require utmost concentration and focus--even a small perturbation in breathing may lead to a fizzled spell, or, as in the case of transformations, much worse. Druids spend a dedicated portion of each day maintaining and improving their mobility as well as clearing their mind of distractions through trance-like meditation.

Wizard

They depend on their fine motor skills, dexterity and their unshakable attention in order to perform complicated actions while under severe mental and physical duress. They must train their reaction times in order to analyze the conditions of the battle time and make quick decisions on the fly. Finally, they must learn to control their breathing and clear their mind in order to protect themselves from potentially fatal distractions.

Warrior

Warrior

Warriors rely on their athleticism, agility, and strength to overcome any objective. They realize that to survive, one must be able to adapt. Rather than focus on one aspect of martial training, they utilize variable training techniques in order to prepare for any situation that may arise on the battlefield. While they may not be the strongest, the fastest, or the most dextrous, the warrior succeeds by being a well-rounded athlete that integrates all their abilities and skills and turns them into a coordinated method of attack.
